Food For Kelah Early Larvae & Post Larvae

Feed for early larvae...

This is newly hatch kelah, in this stage its called fry. After hatch fry cannot accept exogenous feed because the mouth under development. At this stage the fry will used or absorb the nutrient from their yolk sac. The yolk contain 2 portion or called bi lobe (primary and secondary yolk). At this portion, alimentary such as stomach, esophagus etc. will developed. in the short way the "system pencernaan" under development.

This is the fry 6-7 days post hatch. At this time, the yolk already fully absorb, the fry happy play hide and seek in the incubator mash..hehe. In this time also, i need to prepare Artemia nauplii a day/24 hours before they ready to take first feed.

To prepare Artemia you must follow some rules. The Artemia is supplied in cyst form which packed in tin or in aluminium pack. It will be good if we buy it in tin and imported from Great Salt Lake, U.S. It is because the tin pack have hatching rate higher that other sources such as from Syndel Asia. The salt concentration good between 20-32 ppt, its better if u use ocean water. After 24 hour, the Artemia start to hatch but not fully and after 48 hours its fully hatch. At this time u can stop the aeration and wait for half an hour, in the same time u need to cover the upper bottle with dark sheet to lets the Artemia settle down toward the light. Slowly open the valve to let the Artemia out and use sieve to separate hatch Artemia from the unhatch cyst.

Every morning, i will set to wake up early to observe the babies and give them feed. The dead fry were removed to avoid fungus infection to other good larvae and water. The fry were separated with different rearing net mesh which design by myself. If u want to know how to design it, don't hesitate to contact me...:) U must know when the time which a good time to separate the fry from the incubator mesh, if not they will shock and die.

This is the fry after full take Artemia, look at its stomach which red in colour. Blurppp Full.. The fry really like to after the moving organism such as Artemia, zooplankton etc and easy to eat. If want to compare with artificial feed, its better to give live feed because the nutrition content in the feed is high and can give faster growth rate. there some research state like that.

This is the fry that reach 3-4 weeks after hatch.  So at this time you can stop feed them with Artemia. You can slowly give them ownmade feed such as mesh feed.
Ni cegini rasenye dah sampai umur 3-4 minggu lepas menetas dh.. Boleh le stop kultur Artemia.. Boleh dah asuh ikan ni bg makanan lain plak. Maklum lah kos Artemia bukan murah tambah2 lg byk penyakit klau ade infection pathogen kt cyst yg masuk dalam tangki asuhan tu. Buat le makanan sendiri klau nak berjimak n nak elakkan penyakit berjangkit. Biasenye pada umur gini aku buat makanan crumble feed. Kita ambik makanan pellet yg tinggi protein dan kisarkan bersama dgn fishmeal...Fishmeal ni mmg dh tinggi protein lg le bagus. lpas dh dah hancur tu boleh le simpan kt dlm peti sejuk dlm bentuk serbuk. Kalau nak guna baru ambik sikit lpas tu masukkan sikit air buat macan doh mcm mak aku buat kuih siput tuh..Gontel2 kecik2 pastu bg ikan tu makan..Mula2 diorang jeling2 je, lpas 5 minit tu ramai le kwn2 dia join makan...Bestnye,,,,

Anak ikan yg paling atas tu dh berusia dua bulan dah boleh dah makan makanan yg berbentuk flakes atau serbuk yg lebih besar tinggi protein. Biasenye flake yg slalu guna yg ade tinggi protein dia dtgnye drp Jepun. Byk produk makanan berkualiti dr sane..Ikan yg paling bawah tu dh berusia 3-4 bulan dh.. Dah boleh makan pellet yg berukuran 2 mm.

Ni dh berusia 9-10 bulan dh makanan pellet pon kena tukar dh bg yg lagi besar,,,, saiz pellet antara 3-4 cm boleh dh bagi..
